Raines’ Riding University will be quite the experience; you will leave with plenty of knowledge and experience on and off the bike. The intensity of the camps is very high and I will be there as long as you want. There are no time constraints and if you want to work till the sun goes down then we will! If you are looking to become a top-level racer or just want to be able to blow by your buddies on the next trail ride, Raines’ Riding University is the place for you! I will provide you with all the necessary tools to help you achieve any goal you want to reach. You will learn all the secrets I have used to go from an average Joe racer in the C class to a Multi-Time National Champion.
The riding schools will cover all areas of motorcycle competition. Some of the areas we will be working on are physical training (optional), mental training, bike set-up, diet and motorcycle technique. On the motorcycle technique we will be training on a local woods/hare scrambles course. The areas covered will include, hills, rocks, roots, balance, clutch control, throttle control, braking, accelerating, overall speed, coordination, corners, body position, vision focus and how to properly weight the bike. I will also show you my secret “speed drill” that will make you faster each and every time you get on your motorcycle!

As a consultant and engine builder/designer for Team Am Pro Yamaha, I’ve had the pleasure of working with Jason for many years. He’s a very naturally talented rider with a training and work ethic second to none. Unlike other off-road riding instructors that visit Colorado, Jason keeps his class size small (maximum 10) so that he can give each student individual instruction. Jason will definitely give you your money’s worth. I highly recommend and endorse the Jason Raines Riding University.

Jeff, regarding your previous comment/endorsement above I was wondering what your current take is on Jason now having a maximum of 14 students at his school, which is only just a few less than our max at the DirtWise schools? I’d welcome you to come attend one of our DirtWise schools (we will have 3 in Colorado during 2011) to experience the exceptional amount of individual instruction and attention that I provide to each and every student!
It’s great to see that you support the BRC etc to help keep trails open – the DirtWise schools donate over $1000 dollars each year to this organization and hand out BRC membership forms to each school student and with every DirtWise Instructional DVD order, plus I use the dBSnorkel as you have mentioned elsewhere here to help eliminate exhaust noise. These are three key points that you are very passionate about, and from what I understand, are things that Jason does not feel strongly about. Just saying……
I hope to see you at a future DirtWise school so as you can have the first hand knowledge to also highly recommend and endorse our industry leading DirtWise Academy of Offroad Riding schools to your valued customers. You could even possibly conduct a free suspension seminar for the students at these schools if you wish. Let me know. -

Hello Shane:
Thanks for the email/comment.
I think that Jason’s new class size is pushing to the limit, but Jason is one of the hardest working guys I know and he makes sure that all students get the attention and instruction that they need. Everyone gets their money’s worth.
Although you may be a step ahead, Jason is getting up to speed on land use and noise issues. His business is in its infancy and as he and it grow I’m sure that he will do more to help out. We’ve discussed it and I’ll be sure to bust his balls.
Thank you for donating to the BRC and helping to improve noise awareness by using a dB Snorkel. I read about you racing with the Snorkel. Great press!!! If you ever find some spare funds, the 2 main groups that work hard to keep Colorado trails open are the Colorado Trail Preservation Alliance and the Colorado Off Highway Vehicle Coalition.
I really appreciate what you do as an ambassador of our sport and its issues, but I’ll have to pass on attending one of your schools. First, I never work for free and have more business than I can handle and second, your endorsement of Slimewell is an issue.
One last thing; a few of your students told me that your Pitkin class starts on a private ranch then moves to public trails on Forest Service managed land. If this is still your class format, you should consider eliminating the USFS trails unless you obtain an outfitters license and permit. I’m sure that you don’t want to do anything that may be counter-productive to keeping our trails open.
Thanks again for your email.

Jeff, he has essentially been operating his riding schools as long as we have been therefore “business infancy” is no excuse for him for not writing a significant donation check to these organizations like we have done, plus trying to encourage increased membership for these great causes. As far as we are concerned a lack of interest/priority for the future well being of this great sport is the reason for not doing such a thing.
So far for 2011 we are not associated with or endorse any suspension tuning companies so there is no conflict there. Maybe you could attend one of our next schools and conduct a “paid” suspension seminar for our students and witness first hand how I work extremely hard to make sure all of our students get the attention and specific instruction they need. Everyone of our previous anonymous student survey results show that every student feels they got way more than “their money’s worth!”.
If you can’t make it out for a school, no worries, but hopefully though one day I’ll get to meet up with you out on those awesome high country trails sometime and we will get to go roosting!
BTW for the Pitkin school, officially per our paperwork and employee timecards, we have finished the school before we leave the private property. The riding we do on the USFS trails with students is just for pleasure, even though I may give some instruction along the way on those trails – the same deal as an experienced rider would do to other riders who maybe having a struggle with certain on trail situations.
Let’s go roosting some time!
